It's Worse....

Dear Reader...

I’m so horrible at this. I’m back up to 190. From 186 that’s 4 pounds!
Though I am kicking myself as I write this, I must also admit to starting a swimming regimen of 3 times a week and walking 2-4 times a week. Still need to fix that body ball so I can get started on hard core crunches and pushups… tonight after work. There I’ve set a date and time.
Husband has completely given up as far as i can tell

We’re going shopping tomorrow and I’m getting V8, salad and protein bars and am starting fresh on my tracker too.

I know a lot of people would just give up but I’m completely dissatisfied with myself so I can’t.

Thomas Edison was asked when he had finally made the light bulb, why didn’t he give up?  He said “I may have learned only one way to make a light bulb, but I learned 100 ways to not make one”
Or something along those lines.

So my new goal is to keep trying new ways to stay motivated to loose weight and new foods and exercises to do to keep me going.
Also! Got a new phone to take with me on walks so I can listen to motivating music while I walk. Song #1: Cant Back Down from camp rock 2

We’re in a time and place where being XL is acceptable, and I want to be extrodanary!
I will do this, I will not be alone, and I will not quit!
With love and new strength,
Arose

2 Weeks in and going good!

Hello Reader,

Well it’s been a couple days since I was last on... ok I'll admit it was more like a week, but what is time between friends?

Anyways, I now weight 187!

I don’t know how my husband is doing he hasn’t checked in with me lately.

I have a book of tasty treats I would like to recommend. It’s called Cook Yourself Thin Faster. This is actually a sequel to the best seller Cook Yourself Thin. The book has a bunch of tasty meal ideas in it that are low in calorie. My favorite is the buffalo chicken wings. I didn’t know this until I made them the other day for my husband and I, that hot sauce has 0 calories! So there’s a great flavor adder to really any meal. Mustard is another one of these 0 condiments.

oh and I've eaten all the salad and Veggies I had at my house.... so there is nothing diet friendly there... no money for shopping until next week.

I guess I will have to go to portion control for a week and remember to use small plates and bowls to help trick my stomach.

Speaking of control.

My darling husband got to eat a donut on Monday. Do you know how unfair that is? A donut is 390 Calories people! That would be one entire meal out of my day. And that's just one!

Other than food, I haven’t been drinking as much water as I did the first week... will need to work on that.

I did go walking with a friend on Monday for 45 minutes. The mall was a great place to go walk since there’s snow on the ground and we couldn’t meet until evening. We even got our wedding rings cleaned while we did a lap!

I’ve got an exercise ball now, but haven’t started using it. I need to add more air to it then I would like to do 20 crouches on it 3 times a day just to help my waist line a bit.

Well I'll check back in soon. Hope your own diet goals are going well, and in the words of some great philosopher whose name escapes me "anything worth doing isn’t easy"!

Bye!

One Week In....

This is me, Sep 2012, my wedding day. I
was 180. It’s now Jan 2013 and I’m 193...

It’s time to make a change!
Hello everyone, not sure who all is reading this.

The point behind this blog is to track how my husband and I do on a diet.

We are using an app called myfitnesspal. There is also a web site called myfitnesspal.com. It takes into count your normal activity (like work) and weight goals and time frame before giving you your caloric intake each day. For example, my husband is able to have 2200, and I only have 1370 because he works more than I do.

We started a week ago and already he's lost ten pounds.... I've lost .2 pounds. Aside from work, I try to go for walks and do aerobics once a week.

Will hopefully be able to add more exercise once my work schedule gets more normal. Hardest part so far has been staying away from bread and cookies (both of which i have alot of in my pantry!).

Salads and steamed vegies have become my best friend.

Why am I starting a diet you may ask?

Well... I’m 5’6 and weigh 193 pounds.  I am newly married (4 months into it actually). And my clothes are too tight. I’m unhappy when I look in the mirror. I wear cloths to bed (even after sex). And I feel fat. There are more reasons, but those are enough to get us started right?

Now why are you reading this?

Maybe you’re a friend who saw a post about my blog on facebook. Maybe you somehow found it on a Google search. And then maybe you’re a friend of a friend of a friend of mine heard about this and told you to start at the beginning because this will be so inspirational to you!

Alright, probably not the last one. But who knows, maybe in a year or so, that could be a friend of a friend of yours you ask to read this....

Anyways welcome to my blog! I hope you all enjoy it and comment and talk about it with your family and friends. Those who diet should never diet alone, right?

Arose.
