Doing Better!

Dear Reader,

Things are slowly getting back on track, lost 3 pounds in the last week (ofically makes it back to 187). I finally gave in an ordered an android phone, mostly for the on the go exercising help.

Everyone should check out this app "C25K". It’s an 8 week regimen that will help you go from the couch to running a 5k by working out 3 times a week.



Day One (completed yesterday by yours truly) there is a 5 minute walking warm up then 8 rounds of run/jog for 60 seconds walk for 90. At the end of your last walk, you go straight into your 5 minute cool down walk. (Running tip: focus on keeping your breathing controlled, you’ll run faster and not feel as winded)

C25K has a timer that tells you when you need to switch, it works with Pandora in the background (as long as you don’t want to skip songs), as well as your own downloaded music.

I also have installed a pedometer onto the phone to help me reach the recommended 10,000 steps a day.

Andrew (the husband) has stopped keeping track completely, unless he sees me using the myfitnesspal app, but since I cook most of the time and do a lot of the shopping, some of his eating habits are more controlled.

Compromising is the key to having chocolate, instead of eating cookies; eat a 100 calorie granola bar. Their bigger and are better for you. Add a few drops of lemon juice to your water to flavor it without all the sugars lemonade has. And when you shop, don’t go through every aisle, take a list and stick to it!

Things are looking up, spring should be coming soon according to Phil, then the real fun can begin!

  1. Honey... I love you and i can see the difference. I know i'm not exactly following any diet or exercise regiment, but i am so proud of you for doing what you are doing. I love you and keep up the good work. Now if only we could get enough sleep (good sleep), we'd be good.
