I’ve been here every week for the last month or so... and have had no
real results. I’ve added exercise to my regimen, doing more workouts now then
even when I was at my skinniest 3 years ago, a glorious 155 lbs., and I am
still not really seeing results that will keep me motivated. I know I have water weight to loose, and yet it’s
staying on. So I’ve decided I need to go on a week of cutting my waist's worst
enemy and my mouths best friend out of my diet.
That’s right bread.
Bread and I have always been great friends, and I eat more
straight bread and pasta now than ever, even staying under my caloric intake
limit. So for the next week I’m going to cut out bread completely (as best as I
can, I’m going to my grandma's this weekend and I heard something about piaya…
and that usually means Italian bread... and she makes waffles... oh dear.) I’m not expecting radical results from this
bread fast, but I am hoping by cutting it out that the number on the scale will
move.
Now most of you are wondering what I’ll do next week when
the bread fast is over, and I plan on keeping the amount of bread low, so that I
won’t crave it because of complete rejection, but it won’t be that big of a
portion of my diet. While breads are out
this week, veggies and meat are definitely in, meaning more salad with dinner
and lunch and new ways to cook chicken and beef dishes.
Another thing I’ve started to do is cut out the yoke in my
morning egg, it taste good if you add little Mrs. Dash to it.
I exercised every day last week, and twice on Monday and Thursday.
Forgot a towel yesterday so only walked last night with Jackie, and today I forgot
it again, but walked 3.4 miles in an hour and will be walking tonight with Jackie.
Goal for tomorrow is to bring a towel so I can run and shower afterwards!
I
want to get started on week 2 of C25K that went well last week, but I’ll lose
that momentum if I don’t get going this week. Since I didn’t have a towel,
probably won’t be able to swim at all this week, unless I convince Andrew to go
with me on Friday after he gets out of class… I don’t see that happening with
me also having drama practice from 2-330 then us having to leave for home, a 6
hour drive.
Sorry this week wasn’t very interesting, but at least I’m
checking in! If I wasn’t then all of you might think I’ve given up lol.
Have a good week and wish me luck!
Arose

Good for you! I know it's hard to stay motivated. Unfortunately, it's not just bread but anything wheat. Try breads made out of other kinds of flour or sprouted grains. You will see a HUGE difference it you cut out refined wheat flour. Huckleberry's or Whole Foods should have a lot of alternative choices.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Thanks Lori,
DeleteI'll keep that in mind this week. today wasn't too bad, but generally the first day going without you dont notice. hopefully tomorrow will go just as well.
thanks for the love and support!
